The title of this blog, GhostofStJohnArena (which is also my username), is loosely based on a couple two or three items.
The first is that for many years, before it stopped being the main venue of Ohio State basketball, I haunted St. John Arena, watching many games and practices there. The beginnings of my love for Ohio State basketball started in that place.
I started watching games at St. John the same season the class of Kelvin Ransey, Jim Ellinghausen and Mark Hetz came along and I continued viewing games in that wonderful space almost every year until the last contest had been played versus Penn State.
Secondarily, I do feel much like a ghost of that arena since it is now rarely used for basketball games of any sort. My Ohio State basketball soul is still there even though nothing much, hoops wise, occurs on that court anymore.
Finally, what cements the meaning of the title of the blog for me is my memories of St. John Arena are always present in my mind as I carry an allegiance and love for Buckeye basketball teams in the present and on into the future.

I’m beginning to get more of a feeling for what the focus of my blog is. Any of you who may read this (Maybe no one ever will? LOL ) blog can go to the Columbus Dispatch, Bucknuts, Buckeye Planet, The OZone, Buckeye Commentary, or any of the other outlets Buckeye fans enjoy, and get the game breakdown – the who, what, when, where, why and how details. I do.
But moreso I want to give my perspective instead of doing so on the boards and forums of those sites. I’ve found I’m not always able to express everything I’d like. Here, I can fully engage myself in whatever direction I please as it is related to the two Buckeye basketball teams.
Hope you will enjoy what I have to say.
Go Bucks!
